CHANGING THE RULES - Kentucky is the 1st state to require Medicaid beneficiaries to complete a monthly "work requirement" effective as of July 2018.  Kentucky will require 80 hours a month of "work, school, job skills training or community service" in order to retain Medicaid benefits.  9 other states, including North Carolina and Arizona, have applied for a federal waiver to also implement Medicaid work requirements.  23% of Americans (74 million folks) are on medicaid today (source: Medicaid).
